The President & COO of Deafblind Community Services (DBCS) is the chief executive of DBCS’s national division dedicated to supporting individuals who are Deafblind. This transformative leadership role is accountable for advancing the vision of a Canada where individuals who are Deafblind can access the supports, services, and opportunities necessary to lead independent, fulfilling lives.

Reporting directly to the President & CEO of CNIB and accountable to the DBCS Board of Directors, the President & COO steers the strategic direction, operational excellence, and national impact of DBCS. With a bold, future-oriented mandate, the President & COO champions a comprehensive strategy encompassing service expansion, workforce development, public policy influence, and inclusive innovation, all grounded in the lived experience of the Deafblind community.

This role requires a seasoned, visionary leader who can scale systems, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and inspire transformative change across multiple jurisdictions.

💼 Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion and implement the DBCS strategic plan, ensuring measurable growth, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Position DBCS as a national leader in Deafblind services and advocacy, shaping the future of accessibility in Canada.
  • Align DBCS strategies with CNIB’s broader mission and governance model, balancing autonomy with cohesion.
  • Provide executive oversight of national service delivery, human capital, program innovation and financial performance.
  • Build and sustain high-performing, regionally distributed operations, including virtual service models and regional hubs.

🎯 The Leader We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in health, social services, disability services or not for profit sector.
  • Demonstrates success in influencing policy, organizational growth and operational scale.
  • Deep familiarity with Deafblindness, intervenor services or the disability rights sector is highly preferred.
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Administration, Social Work, Health Leadership, Not for profit Management)
