CNIB is seeking a visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team and help shape the future of one of Canada’s most respected organizations supporting people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision.

The CFO will stand alongside the CEO as a trusted executive counterpart- ensuring that financial strategy, governance, and transformation are tightly woven into every aspect of CNIB’s leadership.

This role is at the centre of enterprise transformation, working closely with our Board of Directors, investment advisors, and senior leadership to strengthen one of Canada’s most trusted charitable organizations and prepare it for its next exciting chapter of growth and impact.

You will oversee a combined budget of more than $100M, lead a 22-person finance team, and drive financial stewardship across CNIB and CNIB Deafblind Community Services (DBCS). This role is at the centre of governance, risk, and enterprise transformation- working closely with our Board of Directors, investment advisors, and senior leadership to strengthen one of Canada’s most trusted charitable organizations and prepare it for its next exciting chapter of growth and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic financial planning and multi-year capital development
  • Oversee operations including payroll, insurance, pensions, and audit
  • Engage directly with Board and Committees across Finance, Risk, and Investments
  • Optimize finance structures, processes, and team performance
  • Drive data-informed decision-making and outcome-based reporting

The Leader We’re Looking For:

  • CPA designation with 10+ years in senior finance roles (CFO or VP Finance level)
  • Expertise in fund accounting, non-profit governance, and financial risk management
  • Proven success in business transformation and enterprise-level strategic planning
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with Board-level presence
